The Big Canoe Genealogical Study Group

The Big Canoe Genealogical Study Group meets the second Monday of each month (September through June) at the Broyles Center from 10-11:30 a.m. (unless otherwise announced). All interested parties are invited to attend our genealogical workshops.

2004-2005 Meeting Dates

  •  9 November (2nd Tuesday)
    Field trip to the Georgia Archives
    Leave 8:00 AM sharp from the Wildcat Recreation Area
    Return to Big Canoe about 4:45 p.m.
  •  13 December (2nd Monday)
    Preparing for a research trip to the University of Georgia Library (even if you don't have Georgia Ancestors, you won't want to miss this trip)
    Broyles Center, 10:00 to 11:30 am
  •  10 January (2nd Monday)
    Field trip to the University of Georgia Library
    Leave 8:00 AM sharp from the Wildcat Recreation Area
    Return to Big Canoe about 5:00 p.m.
  •  7 Febuary (1st Monday)
    Preparing for a research trip to a LDS Family History Center
    Broyles Center, 10:00 to 11:30 am
  •  9 March (Wednesday)
    Field trip to the LDS Family History Center
    Leave 9:30 AM from the Wildcat Recreation Area
    Return to Big Canoe about 4:45 p.m.

The meeting on 9 March will conclude this set of studies for the Big Canoe Genealogical Study Group following nine years. I've truly enjoyed working with all!

The first meeting of the Pickens County Genealogy Explorers will be at the Pickens County library on March 19th at 10:00 AM. This is a new group that will meet monthly to answer questions in hopes of encourage and to help those people interestiedin researching their ancestors. The group's facilitator will be Don Thompson.
